Using caves on Heroscape maps

White Noise posted this neat pic of a cave. Caves are great, I've made some myself but it's sometimes difficult to move you're piecies in the caves.

This solution might work remembering that to determine line-of-sight you're piece will need to be on the offical map.

Cave by White Noise  Create another map that shows the interior of the cave that can be used to move piecies.  Cave Side Map

History
Naralos graduated from the SDA Naval Acadamy at Gollwin and served as an engineer aboard various military craft until he mustered out after eight years of service. Following a few stints aboard civilian vessels, each of which joined a repetitious habit of falling into SDA impound yards, he was forced to find work each time following rigorous interogations. MalCo Enterprises was quick to scoop him up, and under the organization he recently joined the Phoenix crew as a chief engineer.

Naralos is witty, even by human standards. He can also be quite condenscending. He is very stocky, even for a dralasite. A dangerous combatant in close quarters if the enemy should go toe to pseudopod with him, a trait that has landed him in trouble at more than one spacer hang-out.

The fact taht has family owns a general store that specializes in serving those in the security business is an added bonus.

Nature's Wrath

My Adventure Notes:

Jordon was the DM, great job Jordon!

The Wizard class was fun to play. I picked spells that were area burst attacks. (No burst was over 1 square radius). Galinndan was not able to use his Acid Arrow daily spell since there wasn't an opportunity to use the secondary attack on an adjacent enemy.

At one point we were attacked by bats. I told the GM I wanted to jump up and grab one of the bats while one of my allies stabbed it. I rolled a 20! Then he said the ceiling was too high to reach. LOL! He let me keep the roll which resulted in a critical hit. Too bad for the bat.

Question: If the ceiling is 20' high why can't the bat land in my square since technically were not occupying the same space?  :-P

Favor of the Mac Lyrrs: You have performed a service for the Chieftain of Warlsbry, Brenden Mac Lyrr. His village is saved, the farmers and fishers returning to their daily routines. The village can build up their food stores and now have hopes to survive the harsh winter.
Favor of Aatos Kallio: You have exonerated the falsely accused bard. He does not forget your generosity and sings tales of your deeds.

My Adventure Notes:

Noting much to tell. The DM didn't take time to explain much (other than reading off the page). The other players were distracted by life.

Kinda funny, during the last encounter we were in a cave. The DM decided to place all the minis on the board which included a young dragon. Our big bad Gnoll Barbarian decided to hang back (as usual) so that left Josh's Warlock and my Swordmage. My swordmage took an early hit from a sneaking something... Then the warlock used all his action points up to bloody the dragon! Which I killed. w00t!

Drow Swordmage   I prefer Players to play "In Character" which simply means, you built the character concept, play it realistic. :-PBig Bad Scary Gnoll

The Radiant Vessel of Thesk

Adventure Name:
CORE1-2The Radiant Vessel of Thesk 1-4 Rumors of a great item, touched by divinity, have traveled across Faerûn. Those with an interest in possessing the item and benefiting from its power have sent agents to find it, but no one seems to know what or where it is.

AdventureNumber:

Race:
Human
Class:
Ranger
XP Gain:

Gold +/-:

My Adventure Notes:

The Adventure:
In Thay things are not what they are described as. We left looking for a boat (based on a squibbling halfling sitting on a raft docked on dry ground!) and ended up finding a different kind of vessel.

I should have "Called the shot" and pinned the Imp to the wall!
Oh by the way... I was accused of being a "old school roler player" :-)
hahahaha!

General Notes:
There are some key differences between the miniatures game and the rpg tatical combat part of the RPG.

** Special Thanks to DM Mike, Jamie and Robert for helping me during the game.

The Fate of the Radiant Vessel: You have saved Sibbya and her son. Although she is no longer infused with power as she once was, there is more to her story. You have hereby embarked on the "Radiance Against Thay" major quest.
Gratitude of Bhral: Your mercy toward Bhral the orc mercenary does not go unnoticed. In the future dealings with orcs of Thesk, your kindness and reputation precede you.

SWDDv2 and Squad Assault Move

...some ideas for your Star Wars Minis gaming.

Star Wars Dynamic Duo version 2

In SWDDv2 you build a squad of two characters equaling 100pts (exactly)
following faction restrictions. Abilities like Reinforcements or
Reserves that add more characters to your squad are ignored.

After Initiative is determined that Player may activate one character.
Each Player activates one character until the game ends.
You may choose not to use Gambit.

http://www.bloomilk.com/Other/DynamicDuos.aspx

Squad Assault Movement

CE = A piece with a commander effect
C = A single piece/follower
Squad = A single CE with four followers.

Build your squad with at least one character (C) having a Command Effect
(CE). You may place up to four other C's within 3 squares of the CE.

Saturday is TAKE IT Day

It's official, the day after "Talk like a pirate day" is TAKE IT day. (web site coming soon! http://takeitandlikeit.com sponsored by "JP Flavored Cheese" and brought to you by the letters L. G. and M. and the number d20)

To kick off the day let's meet up at 11AM sharp'e and build some DnD warbands. Fight to the death against Larry's EPIC Crew. The last one standing gets to TAKE IT! (prize not disclosed)
Non-EPIC pieces in Players warbands!

At 1PM is "Star Wars Build It and Take It or Cry like a grrl". SWBITICLAG.

sw biti clag?

uhm... yeah.

Build a 150 point cross-faction "Cheese Me No Likey" squad. No more than 6 activations. Battle to the pain as the Dreaded Pirate Roberts says.
(no duplicate Unique characters)

Star Wars Champaion - 100 point constructed

I took first place and won Juhani (Very Rare Fringe).

My squad:

Mandalorian Captain (Followers gain TWIN attack)
Mandalorian Gunslinger (Evade, Cunning, Deadly 19 & 20, Double)
Mandalorian Scout (Cloaked, Double, Greater, Opportunist)

The Scout can't be shot accept adjacent (not even Force Sense can twart cloaked) and if I stay within 6 of the Captain I can take four shots and still move in cover.

Broke? ;-)

(Pictures coming soon!)

HeroClix champ!

One man army.... er A three man one-y.. uhm...  Three-to-one marny?

I won against three other players, JP, Dennis and Jeff. Much fun!

Jeff and I didn't KO any character but he used a couple of Alias cards which allowed me to win by taking 6 points. 6 points, LOL
